When Walt Disney was16, he tried to join the military. Walt was discouraged so he signed up for Red Cross as a volunteer ambulance driver. He was still too young, but he convinced his mom to sign the papers and he changed the 1 to a 0 on in his birth year. After his training, he was sent to France in 1918. In France, he decorated his ambulance with original cartoons. Walt returned to the United States one year later.
